Types of Juicers
If you are interested in getting a juicer for your kitchen, then it is important to know which type of machine to get. There are two main types; a centrifugal juicer and a masticating juicer. They each use a different method juicing to get the job done. Choosing between these two types of juicing machines can be narrowed depending on your budget, time constraints, and the fruits and vegetables that you want to juice. A very simple breakdown:
– Fast, great for people who don’t have a lot of time to spare
– Loud, part of doing the job quickly is that the motors that power these machines are louder.
– Great for hard fruits and vegetables.
– Not so great for leafy green vegetables like lettuce, wheatgrass, spinach and kale.
– Price of a decent centrifugal juicer should be slightly less that a masticating machine.
– Slower, more methodical method to juice produce. Also food may need to be chopped up into smaller pieces to fit into the opening of the machine.
– Superb juicing of leafy veggies like those listed above.
– Not so good for softer fruits and veggies like apples
– A little bit pricier than centrifugal juicers on average.
Once you know which type of machine you get the most use out of, you can then decide on which model to get. It helps make the decision process a lot simpler.

What We Use
We have had the opportunity to use both a centrifugal and masticating juicer before, and while both will give you a nice end product, we prefer masticating juicers because we like to juice a lot of kale and spinach. We have had an Omega juicer for a couple of years now and we have been thoroughly satisfied with how well it has performed. Everything we throw into it comes out great. The pulp that is extracted is very dry which means most of the juice has been pressed out from the fruit or vegetable. We couldn’t imagine giving up our Omega. They come with super long 15 year warranties too, which is amazing for a kitchen appliance. Any of the top Omega models will do a great job for your juicing needs and they have pretty high customer ratings as well.
Any Juicer is Better Than None
Juicing is a fabulous way to get quick nutrients for people on the go. If you are like us and don’t really care to eat a lot of salad or snack on celery and carrots, then juicing is something worth considering. If you could turn around years of fast food, sodas, and indulgent deserts with just a few minutes a day, wouldn’t it be worth the effort. Having a juicer in your kitchen can provide numerous health benefits that can only improve your overall well being and diet. Stop making excuses and take control of your health. Juicing is here to stay.
