The book is Out!
My book - Micro-ISV: From Vision to Reality - about defining, starting, marketing and building your micro-ISV is as of now actually selling at Amazon.com.
A couple of things to mention:
1. Wednesday (Jan. 11) will be the "official" day the book is released and publicized, the new web site supporting the book and micro-ISVs in general will be up, and Joel Spolsky has a few things to add about the book.
2. The ebook version will be available directly from Apress at http://apress.com very soon (the sun is just coming up here in Northern California.)
3. The book's files will be both at the new micro-ISV site and at apress.com.
4. If you buy the book, thanks in advance! If you buy the book, and
post a review about it at Amazon, I will be your best friend forever!
Seriously, if you find MIVR useful, please let others know at Amazon.
(Technorati tags: Micro-ISV)

I bought this book after reading a slashdot review (or something). I too am a developer looking to write some software to sell over the Internet.
Want to know what I loved about this book?
1. the use of the word "of" when applied to groups of things. Such a relief to read an american author who realises that "a handful of websites" is so less stressful to read than "a handful websites". I know the word 'of' is on the way out, but it was a breath of fresh air :-) Subvocalised words should not be dropped from the language!
2. recognized and reinforced the notion that countries other than America have entrepeneurial spirit, and took the time to include information for Aus and NZ. Not sure where you draw the line here (Ukranians can be entrepeneurial too!), but it was encouraging to see.
3. I already know how to write software, the book focused on the bits and pieces around that process, the bits I was never allowed to be involved with as a code monkey. Things I need to know / be aware of as a budding microISV with many years of programming experience and a few ideas up my sleeve to have a good crack at it.
4. Example after real world example of people starting the process, doing it, having a go. Inspiration.
This book has become my "training bible" for business - much like the other book I'm using "Cyclist's training bible", and could be renamed as such.
Thankyou, Bob, for taking the time to write this.

We have sent him Dunds & Bradstreet collection letter series and hired the services of www.ggrinc.com collections agency and have posted a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Georgia against Bobby Strickland and Strictly Consulting, Inc. Check them out.

Bobby Stickland with Stricty Consulting, Inc owes us over $5,000 for software and website development services. He approved each stage of the project and once it was finished, he suddenly wanted it in a different programming language. We offered other alternatives but he just stopped answering our emails and calls. He outsources to far away countries so he can cheat contractors and get away with it. He knows little or nothing about development ....not to mention honor and honesty!

Hey, I've been reading your book and wanted to take the time out and say thank you!!
I'm a custom application developer who has wanted to create packaged software to sell online for some time but had no direction as to how to start and how successful I could potentially be. You book is not only helping gain a sense of direction but has given me a great sense of motivation as well. I'm about half-way through the book and feel confident enough about what I've read thus far that I will give it two thumbs up.
Expect to hear from me soon as I start to redesign my online presence to more properly align myself with your suggestions.
Keep up the good work!

Hey, I'm impressed with Amazon. I ordered this book on 14th January. Being economy-minded, I chose the cheapest/longest delivery method, and was given an estimated delivery date of 1-10 February. Received it today in New Zealand!
